Fun episode with some of our favorite returning guests. Also, make sure you catch this week's After Show on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz1wrPxAepw
(3:13) Adam Milstead is gunning for a spot on that December 30th UFC 207 card and he stopped by the MMA Mad Podcast to explain why. Truly one of the best prospects to enter the heavyweight division in some time.
(24:12) Sweetbread makes his long-awaited return to the cage on November 23rd. But first, he makes his long-awaited return to the podcast. We got into everything from MMA in New York and the UFC turmoil to the New England Patriots and the benefits of fighting on Thanksgiving Eve. Fun interview with one of our favorites.
(53:44) In this week's After Show, Nick discusses the departure of GSP and the return of Rousey. He maps out his escape from the Cube Life, explains his cautious optimism with the Dallas Cowboys, and breaks down HBO's newest Sunday Night Drama, Westworld.

This episode was all over the place, but I'm tremendously proud of it. Two somber interviews with some laughs in between for balance. Enjoy!!
(4:43) Matt Bessette sheds some light on the frustrations involved with being on the cusp of a UFC call-up. He's at a crossroads that reaches beyond a simple career decision. This is about his life. Somber interview but an important one. Hopefully the precursor to an Octagon debut.
(27:47) The debut of Outside The Bubble w/Monica!! In this (likely to become a recurring) segment, I spoke with my roommate who knows little to nothing about the world of MMA to get some predictions for the UFC 205 title fights. The predictions were based on intangible factors that can only be seen by someone who truly lies outside the bubble. So place your bets accordingly!!
(40:20) Duane Finley is the Senior Editor for FloCombat. He's also a close friend of the late Josh Samman. I wanted to speak with him about Josh and gain some perspective on the tragedy from someone who knew him so well. This was a powerful one.
(53:33) In this week's After Show, I got into everything from Hilary vs. Trump and TV Talk to the Dallas Cowboys and Greg Hardy's MMA debut.

Best wishes to friend of the show Josh Samman who is currently in a coma and fighting for his life in a Florida hospital. Hoping for a speedy and full recovery. One of the best people I've met in this business.
(5:16) Cortney Casey returns to the show with a huge fight on the horizon. She's set to take on #1 ranked Claudia Gadelha. An unexpected car accident nearly put a halt to things, but she's back at it and fully prepared to bring a show down to Brazil.
(21:13) John "Doomsday" Howard discusses the difference between today's fighters and the lifelong martial artists of previous generations. We also got into a little New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox talk.
(35:24) Jon Tuck is readying himself for a fight in the Philippines, just a three hour flight away from his home country of Guam. The last time he was there, he got a Performance of the Night bonus. He's looking to do the same on October 15th. REMINDER: It's a morning card here in the states.
(46:59) In this week's after show, I discuss my return to The Cube Life and the strong start for the Dallas Cowboys. I shared some memories about the the Red Sox 2004 World Series win and what Big Papi has meant to the city of Boston. I also got into sportsmanship after fights and the strangeness that is Bisping vs. Henderson for the middleweight title. And finally, we wrap things up with a little TV talk about HBO's Westworld.
It's a good time, I hope you can join!!

Two of our favorite guests, both with big fights on the horizon, return to the show for a loaded and very fun episode of the MMA Mad Podcast.
(3:36) Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson catches up with us in between training sessions with Chris Weidman to talk about movies, cartoons, and even a little bit of MMA. Wonderboy is set to fight Tyron Woodley for the UFC Welterweight Championship at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden.
(20:51) Jimmie Rivera catches up with us after his huge win over Urijah Faber at UFC 203. He discusses the latest with his damaged eye, the opponents that make the most sense for his next fight, and the timetable for his return.
(45:07) In a very diverse after show, Nick discusses Mr. Robot, Donald Glover's Atlanta, and the postseason chances for the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox. Plus, Poirier vs. Johnson, Hall vs. Brunson, Cris Cyborg's dangerous weight cut and the upcoming Nick Newell biopic, Notorious Nick.

Nick looks forward to the season premier of American Horror Story and discusses the true turnover from Summer to Fall.
(12:43) Ian McCall joins the podcast to discuss everything from fight cancellations and a near-retirement to podcasting and music festivals. This was a really fun one!!
(42:41) Sean Soriano discusses his homecoming fight at CES MMA 38 and reflects on his time spent in the UFC.
(53:15) In the aftershow, Nick Rizner reflects on the craziness that was UFC 203 and all the post-fight antics.

Two brand new guests debut on the podcast this week, as Tony Ferguson and Albert Morales look to rise the ranks of their respective weight classes.
(7:39) Tony Ferguson spares no feelings while discussing the lightweight division and his place within it - or rather - atop it. He's one of the most dangerous contenders at 155 pounds and he's on a mission to take that belt.
(33:15) Albert Morales caught up with us ahead of his Octagon debut on September 17th. We end up spinning off into discussions about the welterweight division, the main events of UFC 203 and UFC Fight Night 94, and more.

Milestone episode of the MMA Mad Podcast!! At long last, we finally have our first active champion on the podcast.
(9:25) UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic returns to the podcast, this time with the belt. We talk Cleveland sports, his big win over Fabricio Werdum in Brazil, and his upcoming fight against Alistair Overeem at UFC 203.
(19:40) UMMAF Official Ryan Brueggemann joins the program to discuss the current state of amateur MMA, clearing up a number of misconceptions and painting a more accurate picture of the ammy landscape. This serves as a pseudo follow-up interview from last week's Olympic episode, so I highly recommend you check that out prior to this interview.
(53:51) Ty returns with some aftershow discussion about UFC 202, the Rory MacDonald Bellator signing, and the upcoming Condit vs. Maia FOX card.
Wed, 17 August 2016
In a special edition of the MMA Mad Podcast, host Nick Rizner dives deep into the process of getting MMA into the Olympics. Calling on the help of previous interviews with Chuck Mindenhall and Brad Pickett, as well as brand new exclusives w/Manny Gamburyan, Jose Torres and Rick Hawn, we get into all the ins and outs of Olympic MMA, and the obstacles that still stand in the way.
Stick around for the After Show w/Ty Reynolds, as he breaks down UFC 202 and all the top story lines surrounding the world of MMA.
