The MMA Mad Podcast

We've got a slew of bantamweights for you on this special Thanksgiving episode of the podcast.

First, Raquel Pennington joins us after her recent victory over former champion Miesha Tate. Fresh off the biggest win of her career, Rocky is focused and ready for whatever comes next. A title shot can't be far off.

Next, we're joined by the first Welshman to ever compete inside the Octagon. Brett Johns picked up a dominant win in his UFC debut last weekend and officially put Wales on the map. He's wide eyed and excited for his next appearance.

Then, back by popular demand, Monica returns for another edition of Outside The Bubble. This time, she gives her take on Mighty Mouse and his upcoming title fight. Another fun one from Moni.

Finally, Rob Font returns to discuss his next fight and reflect on his first loss inside the Octagon. Sound quality was a little off but don't let that stop you from listening to a solid interview.

Plus, Nick discusses the biggest storylines in MMA, dives into a little TV talk, a movie recommendation, and of course a Dallas Cowboys recap.

Great guests, fun interviews, the debut of a new segment. This is one of those episodes I've dreamed about. I hope you have as much fun listening as I did making it.

First, one half of the UFC 205 Fight of the Night, Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson discusses his majority draw with the welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. Dana White stated both publicly and in private that Wonderboy would be getting that instant rematch and we have to take the man at his word. Understandably somber but still in good spirits, I greatly appreciate the time!

Next, Ian McCall returns to the podcast to discuss his upcoming fight with Neil Seery. Unsurprisingly, we get sidetracked by UFC 205 and the developing politics of Donald Trump's America. Fun interview, I think you'll enjoy it!

Plus, the inaugural edition of coast-to-coast, featuring my MMA-loving friend who moved to California. From opposite sides of the country, Kevin and I recap UFC 205, tell the strange tale of accidentally meeting Conor McGregor and more.

Finally, in the After Show, I hit all the important MMA topics that we missed and discuss West World (which was already spoiled for me), UConn's bad start and the Dallas Cowboys climbing to #1 in the power rankings.

Thanks for listening!!

We're just days away from UFC 205 in New York City, and we're opening up this episode the same way their opening up fight card... with Liz Carmouche!! We get into her debut against Ronda Rousey, making MMA history twice, and her upcoming fight with Katlyn Chookagian.

Then, Jose "Shorty" Torres - MMA's top prospect at 125 pounds - stops by the show to discuss his extended career as an amateur and his fighting future in the UFC.

Finally, Sam Micale makes his podcast debut. We go way back, first working together on my old site, Water Cooler MMA. We talked about his increased focus on grappling, the Dallas Cowboys, and President Donald Trump (weird).

Stick around for the After Show where I dive into a brief UFC 205 preview, a recap of Tony Ferguson vs. Rafael dos Anjos, and plenty of headlines from around the world of MMA.

Last week, we had on the man who was formerly in charge of MMA Fighting's Morning Report. This week, we featured his successor. Plus, one of the most promising prospects in the welterweight division.

(04:36) Jed Meshew and I got into all the biggest story lines in MMA. We also took some time to dive into his history with writing, the absurdity of Trial By Combat in Game of Thrones, and more.

(51:02) UFC 205's Belal Muhammad rejoined the show to talk about fighting in Madison Square Garden and to reflect on his Octagon experience so far. He's definitely one to keep an eye on at 170. Don't sleep on Belal.

(1:08:55) In this week's After Show, Nick discusses Rousey's "last fights," Jon Jones arbitration, and Tony Ferguson vs. Rafael dos Anjos. Then, Dallas Cowboys, Black Mirror, and a shout out to Danish & O'Neill.
